A meeting planner is among the five winners of Wyndham International's Women on Their Way contest for women business travelers, now in its seventh year. Work/life balance was the theme of this year's program, with about 1,000 frequent travelers writing to Wyndham with their advice to other women about how β€œto conquer life's challenges and enjoy its wonderful moments, personally and professionally.”

Holly Balchan, an event coordinator for Bear Stearns & Co. in New York City, who plans about 20 client events and closing dinners each year for the company's debt recovery department, earned her spot on the short list with a composition that argued that β€œthe most successful women in this world aren't lucky. They are risk takers. They aren't afraid of failure.”

The winners earned a $1,200 wardrobe, a week's vacation at a Wyndham property (Balchan hopes to travel to Aruba in May), American Airlines roundtrip tickets, as well as travel and accommodations for the Women on their Way awards ceremony, which was held in October.
