The National Business Travel Association, the leading association for corporate travel managers, this spring formed a groups/meeting committee, setting off talks between the Washington, D.C.-based association and Meeting Professionals International. An alliance between the associations was announced at MPI's World Education Congress.
Under the agreement, MPI members will receive NBTA member pricing at NBTA's annual convention, Masters Program, Legislative Day event, educational electives, and NetSmart online courses. And NBTA members will receive MPI member rates at education programs such as the World Education Congress and Professional Education Conference. The two organizations also may jointly testify before the U.S. Congress on the significance of meetings and business travel to the health of the economy.
