CMI's 25th Anniversary To the Editor,

It was really gratifying to be part of the CMI team once again and to recall the early days when we struggled to establish the Corporate Meetings & Incentives name. It was also fun hearing from old friends who shared recollections of what the industry used to be like and how much — and how little — it has changed. (Much more technologically advanced, but still proving again and again the importance of person-to-person contact and the value of the meeting planner's role in corporate communications.)

Thanks for the memories,
Connie Goldstein

To the Editor,

As I celebrate my 25th year as a member of Meeting Professionals International, it was especially good to see faces of the veterans of our industry in your March issue: Connie Goldstein, Howard Feiertag, and Doug Heath were so instrumental in my growth and that of so many others in this industry.

In particular, I give kudos to Doug Heath. Years ago, before it was popular and smart to say that meetings were about far more than the logistics, Doug said, “Meeting planners have to be more than coffee-cup counters.” He has been proven correct over time.

My only regret about the issue: It was devoid of women in the “Six Industry Leaders” section. I know we were around 25 and more years ago.

We were then and are now a growing force in this industry. At the 30th or 35th anniversary, feature the women who meant so much to our industry's growth!

To the Editor,

Just wanted to wish you a happy 25th anniversary! Coincidentally, Krisam Group is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Why don't we all get together and have a big party? As I've said so many times, your publication is the best in the business.

Congratulations!
