For more than a decade, Financial & Insurance Conference Planners members and hospitality partners have been giving back to the communities in whichholds its meetings, including the annual conference and annual education forum. Through their efforts, FICP has contributed more than $400,000 plus many hours of work to a variety of charitable organizations nationwide.
Now the association has announced that it will align all of its philanthropic activities to benefit one organization—Junior Achievement®.
“The idea to focus our charitable efforts to benefit one organization came about when we took a step back and noticed the significant giving that our members were making to multiple organizations through FICP’s corporate social responsibility activities,” said Koleen Roach, 2012 FICP Chair and director, meetings & conference management, at Securian Financial Group. “Choosing to align with JA was a natural fit for us. JA’s dedication to educating next-generation professionals complements FICP’s mission of educating members to increase their success and strategic value. We look forward to a successful, long-term partnership with JA.”
The partnership between FICP and JA will promote education, support students interested in the travel and tourism industry, and provide volunteer opportunities for FICP members and hospitality partners to create a better future for the next generation of professionals.
“Junior Achievement is honored and proud to be FICP’s long-term philanthropic partner,” said Jack E. Kosakowski, president and CEO of Junior Achievement USA®. “JA programs empower young people to own their economic success and we are glad to join with FICP to help bring more financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship classes to today’s youth.”
Junior Achievement is dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to plan for their future and make smart academic and economic choices. JA programs are delivered by corporate and community volunteers to students from kindergarten through high school. JA reaches four million students per year in the United States, with an additional six million students served by operations in 119 other countries worldwide.
