The Boca Raton Resort & Club, in Boca Raton, Fla., opened its new $40 million meeting and conference facility, the Mizner Center, in January. The 128,000-square-foot center features 34 meeting rooms and can host meetings for up to 1,800 people. Its four independent ballrooms and extensive breakout space offer the latest in audiovisual and lighting technology, but the new center blends almost seamlessly with Addison Mizner's original Cloister building, which opened its doors in 1926. The conference center features lush, intricately patterned European carpeting set on tiled floors, carved stone, beamed ceilings, and ornate plaster detailing.

Boca Raton Resort & Club (an ICP Premium Circle Award winner every year since the award's inception in 1992) also recently reopened its 18-hole Resort Course. After a $6.5 million redesign and reconfiguration, the course now features more than 12 acres of water (it had less than three before the remake), and dramatic elevation changes throughout the course. With the newly created "Mount Boca" (elevation: 30 feet!), a feature on holes 1, 2, and 11, the creators say the play is more like the Carolinas than Florida.

Beginning this year, the Nicklaus/Flick Golf School offers three-day golf schools, private lessons, and custom-designed programs for groups year-round. Also available: a three-day Golf for Women Magazine Golf Program, taught by women.

The Dave Pelz Short Game Golf School facility has recently tripled in size to over 100,000 square feet. The short game school, focusing on putting, pitching, chipping, bunker play, and distance wedges, also offers three-day sessions.
