The luxury resort Sanctuary at Kiawah Island, Kiawah Island, S.C., is slated for a February 2004 opening. The $110 million luxury oceanfront property will have 255 guest rooms and suites. The 473-room Pheasant Run Resort & Spa, St. Charles, Ill., recently opened the 25,000-square-foot Advanced Center for Training. ACT, a part of Pheasant Run's 300-acre campus, is attached to the 120-room Hilton Garden Inn. The facility includes 13 training rooms seating 1,000 people. Each room is equipped with T1 lines, floor outlets, built-in projection screens, and other meeting-friendly technology. The resort, which recently completed a $16 million renovation, offers more than 100,000 square feet of meeting space, 45 meeting rooms, a business center, and a 38,000-square-foot exposition center. www.pheasantrun.com
The Renaissance Esmeralda Resort and Spa, Indian Wells, Calif., will complete in December a new 16,500-square-foot ballroom within its 40,000-square-foot meeting facility. The resort will offer more than 100,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space. A new full-service spa, including outdoor treatment rooms, opened in April. With the completion of the second phase of its three-tiered renovation, the 568-room Hotel Inter-Continental Dallas, near the Galleria, offers redecorated meeting space and two new meeting rooms, as well as an upgraded lobby and concierge area. The hotel's 25,400-square-foot ballroom has been refurbished, as have five breakout rooms on the ballroom level. The two new meeting rooms total 1,550 square feet of space, adding to the property's more than 100,000 square feet of meeting space.
