Tammi Runzler, who has worked in the hospitality industry for 25 years, is leaving her role as senior vice president of convention sales and services for Visit Orlando to dedicate her time to a charity she co-founded, My Neighbor’s Children, which helps the world’s neediest children, as well as to other philanthropic efforts.

Runzler began visiting Haiti after the devastating earthquake in January 2010 and has since volunteered hundreds of hours to serve those in need in the world’s poorest country.

She says she will spend about half her time working with the orphans in Haiti  and the other half fundraising for organizations such as Clean the World, while keeping her ties to the meetings and convention industry in an as-yet unspecified role for Visit Orlando.

Read about Runzler’s charity—and the inspiration behind it—in this 2011 MeetingsNet interview.
