The Good CME Practice Group has accepted Kenes Education, a company in The Kenes Group, into its fold. Kenes is the first professional congress organizer to become part of gCMEp, a coalition of continuing medical education and continuing professional development organizations that is working to develop appropriate CME standards for the European education provider/agency community. Members of the group must comply with a set of guidelines and code of practice designed to ensure that their activities comply with good CME practices.

Eugene Pozniak of gCMEp explained that the company has been very proactive in working with gCMEp to expand the group’s scope, which is particularly key now that so much is changing in the area of accreditation and compliance in Europe. “We welcome them as the first PCO member in this important phase of our development into an open membership organization,” Pozniak said in a statement.

Keith Foley, managing director of Kenes Education, said, “It would be an understatement to say that a tsunami is now overwhelming accreditation and compliance for medical meetings and many of us in our industry will start feeling the effects soon. This is one of the reasons why we set up Kenes Education. We want to be knowledgeable and proactive in order to help our clients navigate the ever-changing waters of CME and compliance. Being accepted by gCMEp is an important part of that process, and we hope to show how PCOs can contribute to that goal.”
