Her 25 years of service in the healthcare convention marketing and exhibitions industry, plus her work with the Healthcare Convention and Exhibitors Association, earned Sue Huff, director of global conventions, Medtronic Inc., HCEA’s Distinguished Service Award. She was “deeply honored and touched” to receive the award, HCEA’s highest, during the 2014 HCEA Annual Meeting June 21–24 in Cleveland.
Since joining HCEA in 1988, Huff has actively served on HCEA’s Board of Directors and was president for two terms. She also chaired HCEA’s Annual Meeting Planning Committee and accompanying Exhibits Committee, the Nominating Committee, the Association Industry Partnering Committee, and assumed several roles on the Executive Committee. Huff is currently on the HCEA Board of Directors as immediate past president. She also has been involved in various industry advocacy initiatives with E2MA and has been the HCEA representative for the Exhibit Industry Council and the All Industry Summit.
“Besides her global position at Medtronic, Sue is a passionate advocate for the rights of the exhibitor and a fearless voice in the industry, and she was tough enough to step up to a second term as HCEA president,” said Pat Friedlander, president, Word-Up! “She investigates practices, she espouses change, and she is not afraid of controversy.”
