The Mid-Atlantic Alliance for Continuing Medical Education is holding its second fall meeting, November 14, 2012 at the MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society in Baltimore. The morning will kick off with keynote speaker Richard F. Tischler Jr., PhD, who will be answering questions and providing brief insights into the Sunshine Act and Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies.
The next plenary session will discuss the role of the CME provider in improving the quality of healthcare through interdisciplinary continuing education. A discussion later in the morning will focus on challenges facing industry and the support of independent education, followed by an exploration of available nontraditional funding. The morning will wrap up with a panel discussion on these topics.
After lunch, attendees can choose between four breakouts, each of which will be repeated once. The topics include the coordination of hospital-based CME, best practices, educational design and innovations, and outcomes/evaluations.
