GenieConnect’s MarketingConnect data analytics tool has won the 2013 technology prize from EIBTM, the global meetings & events expo, which runs November 19–21 at Fira Gran Via, Barcelona.
The show’s annual WorldWide Technology Watch competition, chaired by Corbin Ball, CMP, CSP, Corbin Ball Associates, honors technological innovations that have a positive impact on meetings, conventions, incentives, and exhibitions.
GenieConnect, Chicago, has four meeting products: SmartConnect (mobile event apps), WebConnect (attendee Web portals), MeetingsConnect (a tool for setting up one-on-one meetings), and MarketingConnect (an e-mail marketing engine that can be combined with SmartConnect or WebConnect). MarketingConnect, which rose to the top of the field of 61 applicants for the EIBTM prize, follows the actions of users across GenieConnect’smobile and Web platforms and, based on those actions, delivers targeted e-mail marketing messages.
For example, if your organization wants to draw people to a specialized certification program, the MarketingConnect system could send e-mail marketing messages to attendees who are searching the meeting’s Web portal for related exhibitors or sessions.
“This application of data analytics is a significant advance for the events industry, ” said Ball, who has chaired EIBTM’s judging panel for more than a decade. “GenieConnect provides a rich ecosystem of both Web and mobile technologies to apply business intelligence using meeting participant preferences to target the right people with the right content.”
GenieConnect will receive a booth in the Technology and Events Services area of the EIBTM show floor and will be given an opportunity to present its product in the Innovation Zone.
