St. Regis Aspen, Colo., Completes Redesign

The iconic St. Regis Aspen has completed a $40 million interior and exterior redesign to resemble a quintessential mountain manor similar to what John Jacob Astor, the visionary behind the St. Regis brand, would have designed for the seasoned traveler during the Gilded Age.

A newly created library features a fireplace, sofas, and bookshelves. A grand staircase connects the lobby level to the lower-level ballrooms. The property’s 25,000 square feet of meeting and ballroom space have been transformed into the palace ballrooms of the Astors. The walls and millwork have been painted to emphasize the traditional moldings and character. Large antique mirrors, exaggerated tufted sofas, and elegant furnishings reflect the grand salon style.

The hotel also features a new catering venue on the lobby level that is the second-largest catering venue in Aspen, second to the Grand Astor Ballroom also located at the St. Regis. A new restaurant also opened earlier this year. Chefs Club will showcase a handpicked team of Food & Wine’s signature “Best New Chefs,” who will contribute biannually to a rotating menu of seasonally inspired American regional cuisine. Also , the hotel’s 15,000-square-foot Remède Spa has launched a “farm to massage table” spa menu to complement the new restaurant. Spa-goers will enjoy a five-course, personalized spa menu with an amuse bouche (revitalizing oxygen before services), appetizer (30-minute warming scalp massage), main course (90-minute deep hot stone massage), intermezzo (chilled glass of the resort’s “315” bubbly), and dessert (chocolate body facial).
