Special-Event Venues in the top Ski Resort Destinations
The Little Nell in Aspen, Colo., in addition to being a luxury hotel, also is a good mountainside venue for meetings, conferences, and large events. Personalized service from the hotel and an abundance of four-season activities available also make it a destination for incentive trips and corporate retreats. It offers a wide selection of well-appointed meeting rooms and special events facilities to accommodate a variety of gatherings. One is the Aspen Mountain Club, which attendees reach via a spectacular three-mile journey on the gondola from The Little Nell. New York designer David Anthony Easton appointed the club with elegant Alpine detail: pine wood paneling, warm stone fireplaces, antique Austrian tables, and hand-woven needlepoint rugs. Available for daytime and evening private functions during the summer and evening affairs in the winter, it also features a deck with views of the Elk Mountain Range. The Club has 7,000 square feet of function space, including a full bar, a spacious living room, two large fireplaces, and a dining room that can accommodate up to 125 seated guests or 200 for a reception.
The Bubble Lounge in Telluride, Colo., is an oxygen bar and dance club located in a historic large brick building that housed the town hardware store in 1890s. Featuring hardwood floors, 12-foot-high ceilings, modern contemporary decor, and beautiful box canyon views, it can accommodate up to 100 for an event. Tapas and other food catering is available.
The Colorado Ski & Snowboard Museum and Hall of Fame in Vail, Colo., preserves and interprets the history of skiing and snowboarding; honors those individuals who have made significant contributions to the sport; and educates adults and children about Colorado's rich skiing legacy. It also offers 3,000 square feet of general event space that can accommodate up to 175 people.
Breckenridge Golf and Nordic Center has two function rooms that are ideal for a warm-up before or after cross-country skiing at a winter meeting, or cocktails and dinner following a golf in warmer months. The Center can seat up to 150 people, with food and beverage provided by Hearthstone Catering.
The Kimball Art Center in Park City, Utah, located on Park City's historic Main Street, can accommodate a variety of events, from black tie to tie-dye and caviar to cook out.
Available for rental are the center's three galleries and its Main Street patio. The largest space is the Main Gallery, which houses its major exhibits. The gallery features 15-foot ceilings, ample storage space, and more than 2,400 square feet of open floor space. The Main Gallery can seat 300 people theater-style or host a sit-down dinner for 175-200.
