A partnership between the Professional Convention Management Association, Chicago, and the National Speakers Association, Tempe, Ariz., provides free speakers to PCMA regional chapters.
As part of the agreement, NSA is supplying 16 PCMA chapters in the U.S. and Canada with a list of speakers who are willing to offer gratis speeches to chapter members on topics of industry interest. To date, more than 200 NSA speakers, with a broad range of expertise, have volunteered their services for the program. PCMA chapter leaders can access the list of speakers through the PCMA website at www.pcma.org.
PCMA Canada West Chapter is among the first to use the resource, tapping a Canadian speaker to address a program entitled, “Innovative Thinking for Challenging Times in the Meetings Industry.”
The arrangement is designed to satisfy both groups, officials say, giving PCMA access to a broad array of professional speakers, and presenting NSA speakers with exposure to meetings industry planners and leaders. The program was first announced in January at the PCMA annual convention in Indianapolis.
