Hilton Hotels Corporation has officially introduced its Group Reservations Identification Program (GRIP), a new software which allows planners to interface their meeting registration list with the hotel’s reservation system and quickly identify out-of-the-block housing bookings.
The GRIP program, which can provide planners with a series of reports that shows the details of attendee booking from initial reservations, is free of charge. It was beta-tested in five Hilton properties in 2003, and will be installed in 30 of Hilton’s top convention hotels, from the Waldorf=Astoria in New York to the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Oahu, by mid-February. There are no plans to extend the program beyond the 30 properties at this time. For a complete list of participating hotels, go to hiltondirect.com
