Meeting Professionals International, Dallas, has appointed Michael W. Tucker, 58, as chief operating officer. Tucker will oversee staff operations and administrative functions of the nearly 20,000-member global association.
Tucker’s duties will include creating the structure and processes necessary to manage MPI's activities and projected growth; directing short- and long-term plans and budgets to achieve growth goals; and implementing programs designed to strengthen member care and value. He most recently served as managing partner and owner of MTA Partners, Plano, Texas, an executive search firm for the healthcare industry.
Tucker recently completed a three-year term as chairman of The Collin County Children's Advocacy Center and was an active board member for The National Children's Cancer Society and the Indiana University Alumni Association. He earned a bachelor's degree in education from Indiana University in 1967.
