In November EIBTM takes place at Fira Gran Via Barcelona, bringing together worldwide buyers and suppliers from across the meetings, incentive, and business travel industry. New this year is the EIBTM Forum, taking place November 26, the day before the show opens, in the Fira Montjuic in Barcelona. Highlighting the educational event is a keynote by Barbara Kellerman, a lecturer in the area of public leadership at Harvard.

“Having listened to Barbara Kellerman speak recently in the U.S., I can promise a thoroughly entertaining yet provocative session, suitable for business professionals at any level of their career,” said Graeme Barnett, exhibitor director for EIBTM.

The Forum also will be the platform for presenting the first-ever EIBTM Lifetime Achievement Award, which will be given to an international meetings industry personality in recognition of his or her outstanding contributions over the past 25 years.

Also preceding EIBTM will be the ICCA Forum for Young Professionals, open to association and corporate meeting planners under the age of 30, who have less than three years experience in the meetings industry. This education and networking event is a partnership between EIBTM and the International Congress and Convention Association.

Hosted Buyer Applications Available

Qualified meeting planners can apply for the hosted buyer program whereby they will receive complimentary roundtrip flights and accommodations, access to networking events, transfers to the exbhition, and access to VIP lounges on the show floor.

EIBTM expects more than 4,000 hosted buyers this year, creating more than 65,000 pre-scheduled appointments. Some 3,100 worldwide exhibiting companies will convene on the show floor, and there will also be more than 60 education sessions, relevant for association planners, corporate planners, and—new this year—business travel managers, a curriculum developed in partnership with the Association of Corporate Travel Executives.

This year attendees can visit the Future Events Experience, where they can try out new meeting technology and learn from a “clinic with the experts.” Also in the technology realm, EIBTM will announce the winner of its high-profile Technology Watch Award on the second day of the show.

EIBTM forms part of the Reed Travel Exhibitions Meetings, Events and Business Travel Portfolio along with AIME, GIBTM, CIBTM, AIBTM, and Business Travel Market. EIBTM is the annual global meetings and incentive exhibition held in Barcelona, Spain. EIBTM is ABC Audited every year to guarantee that the number of visitors promoted is completely accurate and are unique attendees only.
