Prudential Financial is the pilot company for a new version of Corporate Travel Online, a package from American Express that searches all fares--including negotiated group and transient business fares, leisure fares, and online discounters--and displays every option.

Attendees at all Prudential Financial meetings are now required to book air online with the new system, which has meant big savings in ticket fees alone. Users see a link on the online registration form prompting them to book their flights, which has encouraged earlier bookings than when a toll-free number was provided for reservations.

Prudential’s travel policy is embedded in the system, so that if an attendee tries to book against policy, a red error message appears. The person can still book, but takes the risk of not being reimbursed.
