The new Theater District hotel, The Chatwal New York, officially opened in early September. The 1905 property, which first served as home of the Lambs, a professional theater club, has been transformed into an 83-room luxury hotel.

The Chatwal, a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, features two meeting spaces. The 1,500-square-foot Stage Room, divisible into two spaces, can accommodate up to 100 people. The smaller Stamford White Studio can hold meetings of up to 40.

The Times Square hotel is expected to be the first in a new luxury hotel brand, The Chatwal, created by Sant Chatwal, entrepreneur and chairman/CEO of Hampshire Hotels & Resorts. Plans are in the works for additional Chatwal properties outside London and New Delhi, India.
