A yearlong upgrade and redesign begins in February 2011 at The Roosevelt Hotel in New York City. The midtown hotel’s 1,015 guest rooms will be fully redecorated in stages over the course of the year.

The multimillion-dollar project will add all new furniture, fixtures, and guest room and corridor carpeting. New artwork in guest rooms will include historic images of the Madison Avenue hotel, which was constructed in 1924. In 2010, the property introduced a new lounge called Vander Bar.

The Roosevelt has 30,000 square feet of meeting space in 23 function rooms, including two main ballrooms. The 5,696-square-foot Grand Ballroom features chandeliers; a gold-gilded, 27-foot ceiling; ironwork balconies; and arched windows.
