The Renaissance Concourse Hotel in Atlanta has named Donna Vinyard as its new group sales coordinator. Prior to joining the Renaissance Concourse, Vinyard was an event manager for the Marriott Evergreen Conference Resort in Stone Mountain, Ga.

Benchmark Hospitality International has promoted Sara Plaster to director of conference services for Hotel Contessa in San Antonio, Tex. Plaster previously served as manager of conference services at the hotel.

Teresa Winfield has joined Willows Lodge in Woodinville, Wash. as group sales manager. Previously, Winfield worked as group sales manager at the Edgewater Hotel on Elliot Bay, Seattle.

The InterContinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco has appointed two new sales executives. Kelly Teo has been promoted to director of group sales, while Emily Eng has been hired as senior sales manager.

Cheryl Ferguson has been named vice president of sales at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina. Ferguson comes to the resort from Michigan’s Grand Traverse Resort and Spa.


The Boston Convention and Exhibition Center has hired a new food and beverage leadership team. Michael Mihalow will serve as director of food and beverage and Julie Jordan will serve as the BCEC’s general manager.

Bruce Johnson has been named director of sales and marketing for the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center in Atlanta. Johnson was previously director of sales and marketing at the Emerald Pointe Resort and Conference Center in Lake Lanier Islands, Ga.

The Greater Phoenix Convention and Visitors Bureau has hired Kimberly Freer as director of travel industry sales. Freer comes to the CVB from Carefree Conference Resort and Villas, where she was corporate director for travel industry sales.


Jennifer Phillips has been appointed national sales manager for, a search directory serving meeting professionals. Phillips previously held sales positions with the Westin Rio Mar Beach Club Resort and Spa, Puerto Rico Convention Bureau, and Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau.


The Professional Convention Management Association has selected Robin Preston, CEM, to fill the position of professional director on the 2008 PCMA Board of Directors. Preston is assistant executive director, conferences, exhibits, and sponsorships for the National School Boards Association.
