Corporate Meetings & Incentives is looking for nominations for its annual "Changemakers" report, which will be featured in the June issue: 20 meeting managers who have gained visibility among senior management in their companies by initiatingprograms and thereby maximizing savings.
We call them Changemakers for their ability to create positive change—both in their careers and in their industries. These are people who have elevated the meetings role beyond logistics to focus on strategy and, and ultimately have reached beyond their four walls to influence the profession as educators, mentors, and leaders.
2011 Changemakers included Nokia Siemens' Sandra Schall, who is rolling out a global strategic meetings management program country by country to 18,000 employees; Carolyn Pund of Cisco Systems, who is merging SMM with strategic events and measuring the outcomes of both; and Amy Harris of SunTrust Bank, one of the first 29 people to earn the Global Business Travel Association’s strategic meetings management certification (SMMC).
Sound like someone you know? Then e-mail a paragraph on why you think they should make the list to Barbara Scofidio at firstname.lastname@example.org by April 13. The final list will be chosen by CMI's editors and the 2012 Changemakers advisory board: Amy Harris, CMP, SMMC, vice president, strategic meetings management, SunTrust Banks; George Odom, global meetings manager, Hewlett-Packard; Carolyn Pund, CMP, CMM, senior global meetings & events manager, Cisco Systems; Shawna Suckow, president, SPIN (The Senior Planners Industry Network); and Todd Zint, CMP, CMM, VP, meetings and events, NFP.
