Each year since 2004 the IMEX TechTap, a technology focused stand at the Frankfurt-based exhibition for meetings and incentive travel, has showcased meetings-related technologies, many of which are new products or first-time exhibitors.
TechTap is organized by the Belgium-based Meeting Support Institute, which searches for and selects the 11 participants. Those confirmed so far for the May 25-27 exhibition include:
- IML: A handheld device that allows attendees to text and vote, and also works as a microphone
- etouches: a suite of Web-based event management applications, supporting 25 languages
- Poken: a networking tool that allows attendees to touch two Poken gadgets together in order to share contact and social networking data
- amiando: a Web-based system for creating registration forms and selling tickets for events, as well as participant management
- iDentilam: conference badges that can control access to events and track and report on attendees
- Streamline data: a content management system for presentations and Web sites
- Shocklogic: Web-based meeting management system, including badging and barcode scanning
- Spotme: a handheld interactive meeting device that incorporates personalized agendas, voting and Q&A capabilities, maps, an electronic business card exchange, text messaging, and more
- Klewel: captures face-to-face event content for use online
- Infowhyse: portable interactive audience response and electronic voting tools
