Reed Travel Exhibitions has hired Michael Lyons as exhibition director for AIBTM: Americas Meetings and Events Exhibition.
Lyons is a 30-year veteran of the meetings and events industry. Most recently he was vice president, managed services, for the Hub Centers for Meeting and Collaboration in Philadelphia. Before that, he worked as executive vice president for AMR Meetings and Incentives in Newtown Square, Pa., and from 2002 to 2009 he was president and chief executive officer of Global Event Partners Philadelphia. His resume also includes stints as vice president at the former McGettigan Partners and vice president, business development at Carlson Wagonlit Travel.

AIBTM, which launched in 2011, is the newest of RTE’s six meetings industry hosted-buyer events, which include shows in Barcelona (EIBTM) and Beijing (CIBTM). After two years in Baltimore, AIBTM is moving to Chicago’s McCormick Place, June 11-13, 2013. In 2014 it will be held in Orlando.
