The Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau hired CVB veteran Jay Burress as its new president after a nationwide search.
Burress comes to Anaheim from Experience Arlington (Texas), where he had been president and CEO since 2008. Prior to that he worked for 20 years at the Dallas CVB in a variety of sales and marketing executive roles. He will replace Charles Ahlers, who retired last February after 20 years at the bureau. Burress will start on February 11, 2013.
As president, Burress will run the day-to-day management of all convention, tourism, and destination marketing programs. He will also oversee the expansion of Anaheim Convention Center. Plans are under way to add 400,000 square feet of exhibition space and 40,000 square feet of meeting space to the center.
