It has been more than three years since this world-famous hotel at the summit of Hawaii’s Kilauea Volcano began renovations. As of June, the Volcano House, which dates back to 1846 and is located within a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has been completely restored.

The National Park Service invested $4 million and the owners an additional $3 million to upgrade its 33 guest rooms and public spaces. The unique hotel offers panoramic views of the steaming Halema'uma'u Crater from its “crater view” rooms, as well as of Mauna Loa Volcano, and the lush rainforests of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
