While the biotech business has been in a summer slump lately, Nadine Wong at zacks.com says it ll pick up when the fall meetings begin.
- "Of course, summer time is usually a slow period for biotechs, with the sector taking a break until industry conferences and regulatory events picks up again in the fall with medical meetings and investment banks sponsoring biotech investor conferences. There are some potential market-moving events expected in the coming months, which could re-ignite the sector."
Interesting to think that an entire industry depends on medical meetings to jump-start its business cycle.
