Joseph Luzi has been named executive vice President of the Institute for Advanced Health Education (Institute), an "accredited provider of solutions that facilitate continuing medical education (CME) courses and credits for professionals in the medical industry," according to a press release.
Luzi will oversee the overall and financial direction of the organization, and he will develop and execute the Institute's CME initiatives to ensure they meet CME regulatory compliance guidelines (lucky guy!).
He previously co-founded Advanced Health Media, a medical marketing and communications firm, in 1999. Prior to that, he was director of business development for two medical communications companies, Projects in Knowledge and Dudnyk Communications. He also served as publisher of Pharmacy & Therapeutics and worked in advertising sales for Interactive Medical News Group, a medical marketing and publishing company. He began his pharmaceutical career as a sales representative and
district manager with Hoechst-Roussel Pharmaceuticals.
The Institute for Advanced Health Education offers continuing medical education for healthcare professionals, including physicians, pharmacists and nurses through symposia, dinner meetings, grand rounds meetings and teleconferences, as well as Internet-based programs, CD-Roms and videos. Located in Union, N.J., the Institute is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing medical and pharmacy
education.
