This little gem from Yahoo! News gave me the willies:
"Next time you make a printout from your color laser printer, shine an LED flashlight beam on it and examine it closely with a magnifying glass. You might be able to see the small, scattered yellow dots printer there that could be used to trace the document back to you."
Yup, the companies who make printers have slipped in little identifiers that can be used to trace a document back to you. While the purpose is to catch counterfeiters, and the chances of any noncriminal printouts coming back to roost with feds in tow on your desk are slim to none, it's still pretty creepy to know that this has been going on for a while and none of us ever knew about it (at least, I sure didn't).
