According to this article from insidebayarea, SB 1765, the new California law that went into effect on Friday, requires pharmaceutical companies to limit gifts, meals, and other incentives they provide to health care professionals in the state. (Drug samples are exempt from the limits, and CME is still considered a "safe haven.")
But, as of Thursday, the requirement that "companies must post their compliance programs on their Web sites or make copies available through a toll-free telephone number by Friday," hadn't been complied with, though big companies did say they planned to by the July 1 deadline. An update to come if I can find one.
