Your meetings may not be getting bigger, but your attendees likely will be

According to a recent study by the Trust for America’s Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, 60 percent of Americans in 13 states will be obese by 2030, and the rest of the country won't be too far behind. But we don't have to wait until then to see the implications the widening of America is having on meetings. Airlines already are worrying about how to accommodate obese passengers (do they have to buy a second seat? Should the airlines provide a "chubby" class? How many extra-large seatbelts need to be available on a flight?)—are hotels following suit? Are the seats in your ballroom comfortable for larger folks? How do you adjust your F&B for the new normal in body size?

We need to start thinking about this, if we're not already.
