Longtime CME leader David Lichtenauer passed away on January 19, 2009, at age 70 at his home in Indianapolis. Lichtenauer worked for the Upjohn Pharmaceutical Co. for 30 years, where he created the medical science liaison model that established a framework for scientific exchange between healthcare professionals and pharmaceutical companies.
