Maritz Global Events Unifies the Brand

The Experient and Maritz Travel names will be retired.

Maritz Global Events, the Fenton, Mo.-based independent meeting planning giant, has announced that it is rebranding its two divisions, Maritz Travel and Experient, under the Maritz Global Events name.

The company has also consolidated its key functions—sales and marketing, technology, and operations. Enterprise vice presidents Mary Casey, Steve O’Malley, and John Wahle, respectively, will lead these areas.

In an announcement on July 20, company President David Peckinpaugh, CMP, CIS, noted that the name change is intended to simplify and unify the brand, but not affect client relationships. “Please know our shift to a singular, more distinctive brand does not impact the way we do business,” he wrote. “It only impacts what we are called. Our relationships with our clients, partners and industry peers remain a cornerstone of who we are as a company.”

Experient, which largely focuses on association and trade show business, has been part of the organization since 2012 when it was acquired by Maritz Travel. The Maritz Global Travel brand was rolled out in 2016, encompassing both Maritz Travel and Experient. At the time each added a parent company identifier to its name, “a Maritz Global Events Company.”

In addition to Casey, O’Malley, and Wahle, enterprise vice presidents at the company include Greg Bogue (Design Studio), Ben Goedegebuure (global and industry presence), Jackie Richards (people and development), and Christa Chancellor (finance).
