But they also got a taste of the capital’s newer side—including dinner at the hippest venue this side of Portland, a converted loading dock; innovative and healthful food offerings from host hotel the JW Marriott Washington DC; and a memorable closing keynote from the straight-talking yet incredibly warm and endlessly interesting crisis management expert Judy Smith, inspiration for the runaway hit TV show “Scandal.”
