A provision restoring the tax deductibility of travel expenses of spouses who accompany partners on business trips was part of the inheritance tax/minimum wage bill voted down by the Senate last month, but the bill is not dead yet. Senate Republican Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., voted against the measure in a procedural move that allows him to reintroduce it once the Senate reconvenes.
