The mirror-like, 54-story tower that is the new Hyatt Times Square New York opens in the theater district this fall. The hotel’s design is meant to merge the urban and the natural in its lobby and throughout the public spaces. For example, a rooftop lounge with river-to-river views has a variegated wood “trunk” as the room’s core and ceiling panels laser cut with a foliated pattern, all of which is encircled by the lights of Times Square.
The nature/urban combination continues in the airy fitness center and 4,200-square-foot spa. For meetings, the property offers 2,400 square feet of event space that extends onto a 1,400-square-foot outdoor terrace.
The 487 guestrooms feature a collection of pop, minimalist, and conceptual artwork with a New York City theme. The hotel restaurant is a street-level retro-style diner for hotel guests, Broadway show-goers, and area residents.
Slated for opening in October, the hotel is at 135 West 45th Street in the heart of the Theater District and steps from Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, and the 6th Avenue business district.
