AT A GLANCE: Over the past year, BI has continued its worldwide march. In August 2012, it made a significant move into India, adding a headquarters in Bangalore and offices in New Delhi and Chennai. In October, the company invested in Miami-based SparkTran, an incentive marketing organization serving Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. SparkTran is rebranding its Latin America operations as BI Worldwide, Latin America. Closer to home, BI acquired Martin Bastian this spring, a Minneapolis-based meeting and video production company. BI has also made two notable staff additions recently. In January, Mary MacGregor, formerly senior director, North America, at CWT Meetings & Events, joined the company as vice president, travel group, and in April, Patty Sabo Karsten, the former operations manager, purchasing, for PwC Meeting & Event Services, signed on as vice president, travel design.
