How continuing medical education can help doctors improve patient outcomes
<p>Improving patient outcomes is a primary goal of continuing medical education, but demonstrating that CME leads to better patient outcomes is not easy. Partnering with healthcare and patient advocacy organizations can bring the patient perspective into CME activities, provide educational tools, and help obtain patient-provided insight and data.</p>

CME: A Platform for Quality

The National Quality Strategy (NQS), a product of the Affordable Care Act, is the next logical step for certified continuing medical education, which historically has focused on addressing gaps in physician knowledge and competence, patient care, and population health disparities across a variety of therapeutic areas.
