Royal Caribbean International will take the biggest-ship-ever title from Cunard's 2,620-passenger Queen Mary 2 when it launches the 3,600-passenger Freedom of the Seas in May, but the latest RCI buzz is drowning out that news. In February, the cruise line announced that it has put in an order for a $1.24 billion, 5,400-passenger vessel.
