Ashfield Meetings & Events
THE LATEST:
- Ashfield's U.S. operations are booming. Its staff of 113 (as of June) is 30 percent more than the same time last year. To accommodate the growth — and the desire for a more creative workspace — the company moved to larger offices in Ivyland, Pa., which it says reflects the innovation of its new brand Spark Thinking, a consultancy launched in 2014 to focus on creative communications and live events management. Ashfield's Indianapolis office will relocate and upgrade in the same spirit in late 2016.
- Among the staff changes at the fast-growing company: Rebecca Shipley has joined Ashfield as a business analyst with responsibility for providing data and analysis on clients' business environments to the company's global business directors. Also, Laura Brown has been promoted to senior vice president of operations effective October 1 to work with CEO Gavin Houston to drive U.S. business and define plans for global business.
- More promotions may be what the company is hoping for: Ashfield, owned by Dublin, Ireland – based UDG Healthcare PLC, recently launched a two-year employee development program aimed at developing the company's future leaders.
- Early this year, Ashfield grabbed some thought-leader headlines with a Science of Meetings study that reported on physician perspectives on scientific meetings and the future of healthcare meetings. (See link below.)
- A new internal program launched in June called Ashfield Cares will raise money for charitable initiatives in healthcare, education, and community development.
