Stage collapse at the Indianapolis State Fair: another reminder to get your risk management plan in place

The Event Safety and Security Blog lays blame for the tragic stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair that killed five people and injured many more on poor weather-related risk-management planning on the event staff's part and possible structural issues with the staging itself. While I'm not sure I agree that it wasn't just a fluke (we need answers to all the questions the poster raises before we start pointing fingers, I think), I agree whole-heartedly with this statement:

"Planners and venue operators must do a better job of developing and implementing fully developed risk management plans in order to prevent incidents such as this."

My thoughts go out to the injured and the friends and loved ones of those killed.
