.com, .gov, .edu now .travel

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, or ICANN, the organization responsible for managing the Internet's domain name system, this spring announced a new top-level domain: .travel. Any organization in the global travel community is eligible to use the domain. The authentication process began July 1 for potential users, and the registration process starts in September. Tralliance Corp., which is operating the .travel registry, is working with the World Tourism Organization
