The American Medical Student Association issued a statement of support for the new ACCME Standards for Commercial Support shortly after the new Standards were released. Sorry for the delay--I just came across it now.
Also, I hear that the AAO has issued a statement of its own at this site, which for some reason I'm having trouble accessing. The headline, according to a Google search, sounds like that organization has some reservations: "Academy Expresses
Concern With Revised ACCME Standards for Commercial Support of CME."
