I've seen artists do a painting as entertainment at a couple of events, but I had never thought of having one do a portrait of an award winner as part of the (usually boring) ceremony. That's what Art Explosion's Michael Ostaski says he can do, in just six minutes, no less. I can only imagine how wild that would be for the winner, and how much more interesting it would be than the usual blather.
Thanks to the MeCo listserv for the pointer!
