The Pittman Hotel, a Kimpton property, has opened as the first hotel in the historic Deep Ellum neighborhood of Dallas. Featuring 165 rooms and 8,000 feet of indoor and outdoor event space, the property is steps from many of Dallas’ top restaurants, craft breweries, shops, and music venues. It is situated just a mile away from the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center and 20 miles from DFW International Airport.
The Pittman Hotel is located in the restored Knights of Pythias Temple, designed in 1916 by prominent African American architect William S. Pittman. The restoration adds a new-build tower and blends the old with the new by juxtaposing authentic features with contemporary design elements.
The 4,200-square-foot vintage Grand Ballroom offers lofty 28-foot ceilings and three walls of 20-foot palladium windows with stunning Dallas skyline views. Smaller groups can enjoy a 475-foot conference room. An outdoor ground-level pool and bar deck is yet to come, which will offer a more casual meeting or after-hours leisure option complete with picnic tables, poolside cabanas, and a communal firepit.
Inspired by the neighborhood’s artistic history, guest rooms feature work from local Dallas artists and display quirky pops of color on modern, white walls. Available upon request to enjoy in each room or purchase is a copy of the “Kimpton Pittman Collection” vinyl set, the product of a partnership with local record shop Good Records.
Elm & Good, the property’s modern American tavern, is adjacent to the lobby and features locally sourced farmhouse cuisine. The property also offers a 24-hour gym and complimentary bicycle rentals.
