Aparium Hotel Group will open its largest-yet property, Hotel Haya, in September in the Ybor City neighborhood of Tampa, Fla., defined by its Cuban and Latin roots, vintage shops, and indie eateries. Just nine miles from the Tampa International Airport and two miles from the Tampa Convention Center, this 178-room property offers over 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
The first boutique hotel in the neighborhood, the property weaves influences of historic Ybor City with contemporary features, evoking a “mid-century Cuban” aesthetic from the 1950s Golden Age of Havana. Common areas include exposed brick walls, classic art, and a vintage neon “HAYA” sign. Guestrooms are designed by Alfonso Architects Inc. and are outfitted in period fabrics and colors.
The Valencia Ballroom offers 4,000 square feet of meeting space, while the Mariposa and Francisco rooms can accommodate small- to medium-sized groups with 980 and 454 square feet, respectively. Hotel Haya also features an intimate 22-seat private dining room near the property’s restaurant and a 100-person reception area located directly outside of the meeting spaces.
The property’s flagship restaurant, Flor Fina, offers fresh “coastal Mediterranean meets Gulf Coast” cuisine. The hotel also features a sunny courtyard pool and bar, a private library for quiet reading and study, and a Cuban corner café, Quiquiriqui, for casual gatherings.
