This week, the first JW Marriott resort in Orange County, Calif., opens just half a mile from the Anaheim Convention Center with 466 rooms and 43,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space. Also just a block from Disneyland, guests can watch the park’s evening firework displays from the luxury resort’s 4,000-square-foot rooftop patio.
The property’s largest meeting space is the 13,440-square-foot Arbor Ballroom, divisible into seven smaller spaces. A second ballroom offers 4,299 square feet of space. Groups can also make use of 13 other meeting rooms and breakout spaces, all on one floor.
The modern design of the JW Marriott, Anaheim Resort is inspired by Orange County’s history of agriculture and uses natural materials and rustic tones. The farming theme is embraced by an art installation at the property’s entrance, depicting a harvester planting a seed that disappears depending on the onlooker’s positioning. The agricultural theme continues into the JW Garden, an augmented reality sculpture garden launching this fall that will allow guests to interact with digital caterpillars and butterflies while following the narrative of a magical plant’s evolution from seed to sapling to tree.
The resort also offers a Yoga and Zen room with in-person and digital classes, an outdoor swimming pool, and an expansive fitness center with Peloton bikes. Guests can enjoy Italian cuisine at the resort’s signature restaurant, Tocca Ferro, grab a quick bite at the Market Cafe, or sit down for a cocktail at the indoor-outdoor lobby bar, Citriculture. A rooftop bar and lounge are yet to come.
