An Already Tough regulatory environment just got tougher with the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America's updated Code on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals, which takes effect in January 2009. The new, voluntary code places a strict focus on science and education. When it comes to medical meetings, resorts and non-educational gifts are out, and the watchword for everything from venues to menus is “appropriate.”
