Airport hotels are always convenient, but they’re not always meeting-ready. An extensive renovation at New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott has meetings in mind with event space now expanded to 27,000 square feet and guest room improvements that include new soundproof windows.
The project, completed earlier this year, redesigned the 591 guest rooms, adding new platform beds, waterfall showers, wall-mounted TVs, and flight-inspired murals. The property’s meeting space is also updated, and the 10,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom—the largest in the Newark-area market—has an entrance large enough to bring in a vehicle.
The property, encircled by the airport terminals, offers shuttles to the terminals 24 hours a day, but for travelers who have a little extra time, there is a fitness center, free Wi-Fi in the redesigned Great Room, and an onsite restaurant, Aviation Grill.
