News out of Buffalo, N.Y., continues to reflect a resurgence for the lakeside city. Buffalo is watching the fast-paced growth of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, a major expansion of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, and construction of the University of Buffalo’s new downtown medical school, among other positive economic developments. The opening of the new Westin Buffalo in September follows that growth trend.
The five-story hotel brings 116 guest rooms and 7,300 square feet of meeting space to the downtown area, about three blocks from Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. Amenities include Paina 250, a restaurant devoted to wood-fired cooking; the casual Jake’s Café; a fitness studio; and plenty of bikes. The hotel is a hub for Buffalo’s new Reddy Bikeshare program.
